Prof. Philip Fafowora Builders is a distinguished Nigerian research professor in Pharmaceutics, affiliated with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Abuja.

Prof. Philip Fafowora Builders is a distinguished Nigerian research professor in Pharmaceutics, affiliated with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Abuja. Born on February 12, 1968, he is married with five children. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2003-2008), an M. Pharm. from the same institution (1994-1997), and a B. Pharm. from the University of Jos (1986-1991). His career spans roles as Senior Lecturer Delta State University, Associate Professor at Kaduna State University, Research Professor at NIPRD, and visiting Professor at Veritas University, Abuja, Nigeria. His research interests include development of novel biopolymers for drug delivery, dosage form design of phytomedicines, nano-particulate drug delivery, and quality assessment of herbal and conventional medicines. Best graduating student in Forensic Pharmacy, University of Jos (1991); Vice Chancellor’s Prize for Best Ph.D. student, UNN (2007/2008). Head, NIPRD Drug Manufacturing Unit; Chairman, NIPRD-TCAMD FMOH Collaboration, Head of Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Raw Materials Development, Chairman NIPRD-Research and Development Committee, Member NIPRD Top Management Committee. Member Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN); Nigerian Association of Academic Pharmacists (NAPA).

 

Prof. Builders has authored numerous publications in reputable journals, focusing on pharmaceutical excipients, herbal medicine formulation, and drug delivery systems. He has supervised postgraduate students and served as an external examiner for several institutions. He has taught various pharmaceutics courses and mentored interns and postgraduate students at NIPRD and collaborating universities.
